Perpetually in awe of natural wonders like The Gate / The Door to Hell.

Images of a gas crater outside of Derweze/Darvaza, Turkmenistan that has been on fire for 40 years. 

In 1971, drillers accidentally tapped into a massive cavern of natural gas that caused the ground around the drill spot to collapse. To avoid spreading the gas into the surrounding environment, the cavern was ignited (under the assumption that the fire would burn off the gas in a matter of days).  The crater has been burning ever since.
